(5) For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh (the works of the law, Gal0310) is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Rom0403-06.

(9) I (Paul) bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (10) But
Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not
attained to the law of righteousness. Wherefore? Because they
sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law.
For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; As it is written, Behold,
I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever
believeth on him (Jesus Christ) shall not be ashamed, Rom0931-33.
(11) As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh
(all their works they do for to be seen of men, Mat2305), they
constrain you to be circumcised (and to keep the law of Moses,
cf.Act1505); only lest they should suffer persecution for the
cross of Christ. For neither they themselves who are circumcised
keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may
glory in your flesh. But God forbid that I should glory, save
in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified
unto me, and I unto the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision

(20) He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon, Luk1610-13.
(21) Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small. Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small. But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the Lord thy God, Deu2513-16.
(22) Let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he (God) is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed (the Word of God, Luk0811:Jhn0101:1Pe0123) remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous, 1Jn0307-12.
(23) All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. (29) But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. (30) Brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, Gal0513,14.
(31) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God, 1Pe0118-21.

unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers
by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and
giveth him not for his work; That saith, I will build me a wide
house
and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled
with cedar, and painted with vermilion. Shalt thou reign, because
thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink,
and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him? He
judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with
him: was not this to know me? saith the Lord. But thine eyes and
thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed
innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it,
Jer2213-17.
(33) Now
we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken
in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by
letter as
from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive
you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come
a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition; Who
opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or
that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of
God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when
I was yet with you,
I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that
he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity
doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he
be taken out of the way. And
then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume
with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness
of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of
Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all
deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because
they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they
should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed
not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness, 2Th0201-12.
(34) Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and
that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside
the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor
of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may
rob the fatherless! And what will ye do in the day of visitation,
and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will
ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory? Without
me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall
under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but
his hand is stretched out still, Isa1001-04.
(35) The
Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and
to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness,
and despise
government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid
to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels, which are greater
in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them
before the Lord. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be
taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand
not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall
receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure
to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting
themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin;
beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous
practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way,
and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor,
who loved the wages of unrighteousness, 2Pe0209-15.
(36) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty, 2Co0614-18.
(37) Jesus...said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him, Jhn0716-18
(38) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it, Isa5507-11.
(39) God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises, Heb0610-12.
