Summary:
...There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
...He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not; He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man, To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living, (the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, 2Co0404).
...Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
...If thou shalt confess (acknowledge; Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also, 1Jn0223) with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. From our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us, (for Jesus' sake) Luk0171. Saved from sin: from wrath: from death. For, By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of you rselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
...Verily, verily, I (Jesus) say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
...From (being) a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

(1) While he (Joseph) thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins, Mat0120,21.
(2) There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him. An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire. A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends. A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good. He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass, Pro1625-30.
(3) Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies, Pss4004.
(4) My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives. So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof, Pro0110-19.
(5) Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence, Job1531.
(6) Blessed
is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he
shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised
to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am
tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth
he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of
his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth
forth sin: and sin, when it is finished,
bringeth forth death, Jas0112-15.
(7) But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him, Pss3739,40.
(8) For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us, Pss4406,07. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me, Pss5604. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me, Pss5611.
(9) Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them, Pss6210. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land, Zep0118.
(10) Woe to them that go down to Egypt (Heb. meaning, That binds; or straitens; or troubles; or oppresses: the great city, which is spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, Rev1108) for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord! Isa3101.
(11) Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. 9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call, Pss2007,08.
(12) Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help, Ps14603. None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption, Pss4907-09.
(13) Charge
them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded,
nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth
us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be
rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the
time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. O Timothy,
keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and
vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
Which some professing have erred concerning the faith, 1Tm0617-21.
(14) Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust
ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant,
and every neighbour will walk with slanders. And they will deceive
every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have
taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit
iniquity. Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through
deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord. Therefore thus
saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them;
for how shall I do for the daughter of my people? Their tongue
is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably
to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the Lord: shall
not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? Jer0904-09.
(15) Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me, Mic0705-07.
(16) He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not; He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man, To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living, (the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, 2Co0404), Job3327-30.
(17) The longsuffering of our Lord is salvation, 2Pe0315.
(18) Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me (the Lord): and to him that ordereth is conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God, Pss5023.
(19) The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord, Pss2701-06.
(20) He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death, Pss6820.
(21) I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land, Pss8508,09. It is he that giveth salvation unto kings, Ps14401.
(22) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine, Pro0305-10.
(23) Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes, P119155.
(24) But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings, Jer2322.
(25) Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips: In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow, Isa1710,11.
(26) Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness: I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory. Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon (Confusion), sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans (wise men): for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate, Isa4612,13:4701.
(27) Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make hast to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace, Isa5902-08.
(28) The
good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright
among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man
his brother with a net. That they may do evil with both hands
earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward;
and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they
wrap it up. The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is
sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen
and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity. Trust
ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the
doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. For the son
dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother,
the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies
are the men of his own house. Therefore I will look unto the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me,
Mic0702-07.
(29) Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait or light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in arkness. We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we ad no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate laces as dead men. We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: e look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us. For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment, Isa5909-15.
(30) And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever, Isa5916-21.
(31) Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law hall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of he people. My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall hey trust. Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: or the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation hall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished, Isa5104-06.
(32) How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God, Isa5207-10.
(33) For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth, Act1347.
(34) The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of theprison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion (They that trust in the Lord, Ps12501), to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified, Isa6101-03.
(35) The Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness. And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure, Isa3305,06.
(36) And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves, Isa6104-06.
(37) For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. For I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations, Isa6107-11.
(38) For
Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake
I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness,
and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. And the Gentiles
shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou
shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall
name. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord,
and a royal diadem in the hand of
thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall
thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called
Hephzi-bah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee,
and thy land shall be
married, Isa6201-04.
(39) For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured: But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness, Isa6205-09.
(40) Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people. Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken, Isa6210-12.
(41) And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof, Rom1311-14.
(42) We then (apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, Jude17), as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2Co0601,02.
(43) How shall we escape (the wrath to come, Luk0307), if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him, Heb0203.
(44) Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec, Heb0508-10.
(45) To
give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of
their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring
from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in
darkness and in
the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace,
Luk0177-79.
(46) O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God, Rom0724-0808.
(47) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together, Rom0809-17.
(48) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls, 1Pe0103-09.
(49) And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come, 1Th9110.
(50) Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
(51) That if thou shalt confess (acknowledge; Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also, 1Jn0223) with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, Rom1009-17.
(52) Verily,
verily, I (Jesus) say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth
on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come
into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put
on immortality, 1Co1553. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth
take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but
such as is common to man: but God
is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that
ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape,
that ye may be able to bear it, 1Co1012,13. For if we sin wilfully
after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there
remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking
for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the
adversaries, Heb1026,27.
(53) Blessed
be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his
people, And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the
house of his servant David; As he spake by the mouth of his holy
prophets, which
have been since the world began: That we should be saved from
our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; To perform
the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, That he would grant
unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies
might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before
him, all the days of our life, Luk0168-75.
(54) If
ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because
ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world,
therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said
unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have
persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept
my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will
they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him
that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had
not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that
hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them
the works which none other man did,
they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both
me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might
be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without
a cause, Jhn1519-25.
(55) From (being) a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus, 2Tm0315. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved, Act0412. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lords. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living, Rom1407-09.
(56) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
