The sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Exo3115
He that is entered into his (God's) rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his, Heb0410. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith, Phl0309. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast, Eph0208,09. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we (his apostles) have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified, Gal0216.
Luke 23: 56 (KJV)
They ... rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Luke 16: 16 (KJV)
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the
kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
1Cor 1: 18 (KJV)
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it
is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring
to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise?
where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath
not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that
in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased
God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock,
and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called,
both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom
of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and
the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For ye see your calling,
brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many
mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the
foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath
chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which
are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which
are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not,
to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory
in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of
God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification,
and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth,
let him glory in the Lord. 2:1 And I (Paul),
brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech
or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I
determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ,
and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear,
and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not
with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the
Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in
the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 6 Howbeit we speak
wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this
world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden
wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known
it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Gala 4: 1 (KJV)
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth
nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2 But is under
tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. 3
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements
of the world: 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God
sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive
the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath
sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba,
Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and
if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Colo 2: 13 (KJV)
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision
of your flesh, hath he (God) quickened together with him (Jesus
Christ), having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting
out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his
cross;
Ephe 2: 13 (KJV)
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made
nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath
made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition
between us; 15 Having
abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments
contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one
new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both
unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Roma 10: 4 (KJV)
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every
one that believeth.
Hebr 13: 15 (KJV) By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
1The 5: 8 (KJV)
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate
of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation
by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we
wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore
comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even
as also ye do.
Hebr 10: 16 (KJV)
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,
saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their
minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will
I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there
is no more offering for sin. 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness
to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and
living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil,
that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the
house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance
of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience,
and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the
profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful
that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke
unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one
another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (where
two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the
midst of them, Mat1820.) 26 For if we sin wilfully after that
we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no
more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking
for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the
adversaries.
John 8: 31 (KJV)
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue
in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall
know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Matt 22: 35 (KJV)
Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting
him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in
the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy
God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy
mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the
second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
2Cor 3: 5 (KJV)
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as
of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made
us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but
of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth
life.
Roma 3: 28 (KJV)
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without
the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is
he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing
it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith,
and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the
law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
John 13: 34 (KJV)
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as
I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this
shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one
to another.
Hebr 3: 1 (KJV)
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider
the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; 2
Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was
faithful in all his house. 3 For this man was counted worthy
of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded
the house hath more honour than the house. 4 For every house is
builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. 5 And
Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for
a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; 6 But
Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we
hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto
the end. 7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will
hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation,
in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers
tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore
I was grieved with that eneration, and said, They do alway err
in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11 So I sware
in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) 12 Take heed,
brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief,
in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily,
while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through
the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ,
if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden
not your hearts, as in the provocation. 16 For some, when they
had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt
by Moses. 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it
not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his
rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that
they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Isai 57: 20 (KJV)
But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest,
whose waters cast up mire and dirt. 21 There is no peace, saith
my God, to the wicked.
Hebr 4: 1 (KJV)
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering
into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For
unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the
word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith
in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter
into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they
shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from
the foundation of the world. 4 For he spake in a certain place
of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh
day from all his works. 5 And in this place again, If they shall
enter into my rest. 6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some
must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered
not in because of unbelief: 7 Again, he limiteth a certain day,
saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said,
To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For
if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have
spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the
people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he
also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man
fall after the same example of unbelief.
Roma 9: 29 (KJV)
And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left
us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not
after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the
righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed
after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of
righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith,
but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that
stumblingstone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion
a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth
on him shall not be ashamed.
Gala 3: 8 (KJV)
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen
through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying,
In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be
of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. 10 For as many
as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it
is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things
which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that
no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident:
for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith:
but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath
redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for
us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through
Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit
through faith.
Gala 3: 2 (KJV)
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the
works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so
foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by
the flesh? 4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be
yet in vain. 5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit,
and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the
law, or by the hearing of faith? 6 Even as Abraham believed
God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
Roma 10: 2 (KJV)
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according
to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness,
and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not
submitted themselves
unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the
law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5 For Moses
describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man
which doeth those things shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness
which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart,
Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is to bring Christ down from
above:) 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring
up Christ again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? The word
is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the
word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with
thy
mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God
hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with
the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession (or, acknowledgement) is made unto salvation. 11 For
the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved.
Titu 3: 4 (KJV)
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward
man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have
done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed
on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being
justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the
hope of eternal life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and these
things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have
believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.
These things are good and profitable unto men. 9 But avoid foolish
questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about
the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Ephe 2: 8 (KJV)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good
works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in
the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called
the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time
ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of
Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no
hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus
ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh (to God)
by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made
both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between
us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law
of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself
of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile
both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity
thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar
off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both
have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore
ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with
the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon
the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself
being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly
framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In
whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God
through the Spirit.
Acts 21: 21 (KJV)
And they (the Jews) are informed of thee (Paul), that thou teachest
all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses,
saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither
to walk after the customs.
Colo 2: 8 (KJV)
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world,
and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of
the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is
the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye
are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting
off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with
him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised
him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and
the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with
him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out
the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary
to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew
of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore
judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or
of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow
of things to come; but the body is of Christ. 18 Let no man beguile
you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of
angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly
puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from
which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered,
and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. 20 Wherefore
if ye be dead (For the love of Christ constraineth us; because
we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead,
2Co0514) with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why,
as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21
(Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to
perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of
men? 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will
worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any
honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
Hebr 2: 14 (KJV)
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,
he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death
he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the
devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all
their lifetime subject to bondage.
1Pet 4: 1 (KJV)
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm
yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered
(reproach,
1Tm0410:1Pe0315-18)
in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2 That he no longer
should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of
men, but to the will of God.
2Tim 3: 12 (KJV)
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer
persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and
worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in
the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing
of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou
hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise
unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished
unto all good works.
1Joh 3: 4 (KJV)
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin
is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was
manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Roma 4: 13 (KJV)
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was
not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the
righteousness of faith. 14 For if they which are of the law be
heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there
is no transgression.
Gala 4: 21 (KJV)
Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear
the law? 22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons,
the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who
was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman
was by promise. 24 Which things are an allegory: for these are
the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth
to bondage, which is Agar. 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in
Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in
bondage with her children. 26 But Jerusalem which is above
is free, which is the mother of us all.
Gala 4: 1 (KJV)
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth
nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2 But is under
tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. 3
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements
of the world: 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God
sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To
redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the
adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth
the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son,
then an heir of God through Christ. 8 Howbeit then, when ye knew
not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of
God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto
ye desire again to be in bondage? 10 Ye observe days, and
months, and times, and years. 11 I am afraid of you, lest
I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
Gala 3: 21 (KJV)
Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if
there had been a law given which could have given life, verily
righteousness should have been by the law. 22 But the scripture
hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus
Christ might be given to them that believe.
Hebr 8: 13 (KJV)
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old.
Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Gala 5: 12 (KJV)
I would they were even cut off which trouble you. 13 For, brethren,
ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for
an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and
devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulful
the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one
to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Roma 6: 3 (KJV)
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ
were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him
by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from
the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should
walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together
in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness
of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified
with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth
we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from
sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall
also live with him: 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the
dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For
in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth,
he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be
dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ
our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body,
that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield
ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but
yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead,
and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under
the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because
we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know
ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his
servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or
of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye
were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that
form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made
free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
2Cor 3: 4 (KJV)
And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 5 Not that
we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves;
but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able
ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the
spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones,
was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly
behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which
glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of
the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation
be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed
in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory
in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For
if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which
remaineth is glorious. 12 Seeing then that we have such hope,
we use great plainness of speech: 13 And not as Moses, which put
a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not
stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: 14
But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the
same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which
vail is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses
is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it
shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17 Now the
Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is liberty.
John 8: 36 (KJV)
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free
indeed.
Roma 14: 1 (KJV)
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful
disputations. 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things:
another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth
despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not
judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4 Who art
thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he
standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able
to make him stand. 5 One man esteemeth one day above another:
another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded
in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth
it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord
he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord,
for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord
he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. 7 For none of us liveth
to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8 For whether we live,
we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord:
whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9 For to
this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might
be Lord both of the dead and living.
Roma 3: 19 (KJV)
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to
them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and
all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by
the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his
sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now
the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being
witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness
of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all
them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have
sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified
freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through
faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission
of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might
be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Titu 3: 5 (KJV)
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according
to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through
Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his
grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal
life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will
that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in
God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are
good and profitable unto men. 9 But avoid foolish questions, and
genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for
they are unprofitable and vain.
Acts 15: 4 (KJV)
And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the
church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all
things that God had done with them. 5 But there rose up certain
of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was
needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law
of Moses. 6 And the apostles and elders came together for
to consider of this matter. 7 And when there had been much disputing,
Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how
that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles
by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them
the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference
between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10 Now
therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the
disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus
Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
Isai 28: 9 (KJV)
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand
doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the
breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to
this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith
ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet
they would not hear. 13 But the word of the LORD was unto
them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line,
line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might
go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Ephe 4: 17 (KJV)
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth
walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the
life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of
the blindness of their heart: 19 Who being past feeling have given
themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with
greediness. 20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21
If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him,
as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the
former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to
the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created
in righteousness and true holiness.
John 14: 23 (KJV)
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep
my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth
not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the
Father's which sent me. 25 These things have I spoken unto
you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter,
which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with
you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I
unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again
unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I
go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 29 And now
I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come
to pass, ye might believe.
