(9) How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him, Heb0203. he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he
suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal

say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. For
when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one
teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of
God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong
meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of
righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to
them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have
their senses exercised to discern both good and evil, Heb0508-14.
(11) Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his
lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat (doctrines,
Heb1309: the doctrine of Chrst, ...) in due season? Blessed is
that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his
goods. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My
lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants,
and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant
shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour
that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint
him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth, Mat2445-51.
(12) Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders. And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD. (13) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad, 2Co0510.

(17) And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof, Rom1311-14. (18) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed, Jas0122-25.
(19) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
