(1) There is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge, 1Co0804-07.
(2) God, Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1Tm0204,05.
(3) Moreover he (the Lord) said (unto Moses), I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations, Exo0306-15.
(4) And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them, Exo0602,03.
(5) But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him, Pss6803,04.
(6) I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images, Isa4208.
(7) Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead., Act1722-31.
(8) Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his
help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: Which made heaven, and
earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for
ever: Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth
food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners: The LORD openeth
the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down:
the LORD loveth the righteous: The LORD preserveth
the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the
way of the wicked he turneth upside down. The LORD shall reign
for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye
the LORD, P14605-10.
(9) Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols. But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right, Isa4515-19.
(10) Assemble yourselves and come; draw
near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have
no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray
unto a god that cannot save. Tell ye, and bring them near; yea,
let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient
time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD?
and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour;
there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all
the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none
else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth
in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee
shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Surely, shall one say, in
the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall
men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall
glory, Isa4520-25.
(11) And thou (Moses) shalt say unto him (Pharaoh), The
LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let
my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold,
hitherto thou wouldest not hear. Thus saith the LORD, In this
thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite
with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in
the river, and they shall be turned to blood. And the fish that
is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the
Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river. And
the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch
out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon
their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of
water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood
throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and
in vessels of stone, Exo0716-19.
(12) God, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high, Heb0102,03.
(13) Now of the things which we have
spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set
on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle,
which the Lord pitched, and not man, Heb0801,02.
(14) Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith, Rom1625,26.
(15) Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Heb1320.
(16) But if the Spirit of him that raised
up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ
from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit
that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not
to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the
flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the
deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the
Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received
the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the
Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit
itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children
of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs
with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be
also glorified together, Rom0811-17. And call no man your father
upon the earth: for one is your Father,
which is in heaven, Mat2309.
(17) As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I (Paul) am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord, Rom0836-39.
(18) This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen, 1Tm0115-17.
(19) Fight the good fight of faith,
lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and
hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give
thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and
before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good
confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable,
until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times
he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King
of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling
in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath
seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
1Tm0612-16.
