BLAMELESSNESS
The day of the Lord will come as a thief
in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a
great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the
earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner
of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein
the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements
shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his
promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth
righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such
things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without
spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our
Lord is salvation, 2pE0310-15.
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness
before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
with all his saints, 1Th0313.
BORN AGAIN
Except a man be born again, he cannot see
the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born
of the Spirit is spirit, Jhn0306.
The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit. Of his own will
begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of
firstfruits of his creatures (12 That we should be to the praise
of his glory, who first trusted in Christ, Eph0112), Jas0118.
As many as received him (Jesus Christ, The Word made flesh, Jhn0114),
to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of
the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, Jhn0112,13.
CHASTENING
We have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby, Heb1209-11.
CIRCUMCISION
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God, 1Co0719.
CONFESS
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father, Phl0205-11.
ESCAPE
God, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust, 2pE0103,04.
EXAMPLES
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they (Israel in the wilderness) also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come, 1Co1006-11.
EXERCISE
I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered, Ecc0113-15.
FAITH
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten
us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ
from the dead, To an inheritance
incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved
in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith
unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein
ye greatly rejoice,
though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through
manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much
more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried
with fire, might be found unto
praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him
not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of
glory: Receiving
the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls, 1Pe0103-09.
FELLOWHEIRS
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me (Paul) to youward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel, Eph0302-06.
FIND
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being, Act1724-28.
GATHER
Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted inChrist. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory, Eph0109-14.
GLORY
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord, 1cO0121-31.
HOPE
We are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it, Rom0824,25. The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you, Luk1720,21.
KINGDOM
That the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
LAW
The law is not made for a righteous man,
but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners,
for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers
of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile
themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured
persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound
doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God,
1Tm0109-11.
Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions,
till the seed (which is Christ, Gal0316) should come to whom the
promise was made (to the Gentiles, Gal0314); and it was ordained
by angels in the hand of a mediator, Gal0319. There is one God,
and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who
gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 1Tm0205,06.
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness
to every one that believeth, Rom1004. For he that loveth
another hath fulfilled the law, Rom1308. For all the law is fulfilled
in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love
thy neighbour as thyself, Gal0514.
MYSTERY
To make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access (access by one Spirit unto the Father, Eph0218) with confidence by the faith of him, Eph0309-12.
NEWNESS
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness, Rom0603-18.
PEOPLE
What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God, Rom0922-26.
PROVE
Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God, Rom1202.
RENEWAL
Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God, Rom1202.
SANCTIFICATION
Sanctified through the truth, Jhn1719:
Sanctified by faith, Act2618:
Sanctified by the Holy Ghost, Rom1516:
Sanctified in Christ Jesus, 1Co0102:
Sanctified by the word of God and prayer, 1Tm0405:
Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once
for all, Heb1009:
Now are they holy, 1Co0714:
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are
sanctified, Heb1014:
Sanctified by the blood of the covenant, Heb1029:
Sanctified by God the Father, Jude01)
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another, 1Th0403-09.
For if the blood of bulls and of goats,
and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth
to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of
Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without
spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the
living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament,
that by means of death, for the redemption of the
transgressions that were under the first testament, they which
are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance, Heb0913-15.
Now ye are clean through the word which I (Jesus) have spoken unto you, Jhn1503.
SABBATH
Jesus said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:, Mrk0227.
SPIRIT
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead
because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell
in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken
your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore,
brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the
flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye
through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall
live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the
sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again
to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby
we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our
spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then
heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that
we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together, Rom0810-17.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:
the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are
life, Jhn0663. O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that
ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath
been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would
I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law,
or by the hearing of faith?
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing
by the word of God, Rom1017.
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made
perfect by the flesh? Gal0301-03. If ye then, being evil, know
how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall
your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Luk1113.
SUFFERING
Let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator, 1Pe0419.
TONGUES
Tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, 1cO1422.
TRUTH
God, Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 1Tm0204-06.
VANITY
The creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God, Rom0820,21.
WORD
Lay apart all filthiness and superfluity
of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word,
which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word,
and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves, Jas0121,22.
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when
ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received
it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of
God, which effectually
worketh also in you that believe, 1Th0213.
