PRECEPTS FROM
THE KING JAMES BIBLE
He whom God hath sent speaketh
the words of God. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for
doctrines the commandments of men.
Whom shall he teach knowledge?
and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned
from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be
upon precept, line upon line; here a little, and there a little,
Isa2809,10. By every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of
the Lord doth man live, Deu0803. Which things also we speak, not
in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost
teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual, 1Co0213.
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their
trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee,
and thou be found a liar, Pro3005,06
Every scribe which is instructed
unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder,
which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old, Mat1352.
The preacher sought to find
out acceptable words; and that which was written was upright,
even words of truth. The words of the wise are as goads, and as
nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from
one shepherd (Jesus Christ the Shepherd and Bishop of your
souls, 1Pe0225). And further, by these, my son, be admonished:
of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness
of the flesh, Ecc1210-12. See preface
Because new subjects are continuously

A Bible Study Series:
COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH
SPIRITUAL: Which things also we speak, not in the words which
man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; things
wherewith one may edify another, for we have received, not the
spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might
know the things that are freely given to us of God, 1Co0212,13.
That we henceforth be no more
children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind
of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby
they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may
grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by
that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working
in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto
the edifying of itself in love, Eph0414-16.
Paul,
as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned
with them out of the scriptures, Act1702.
Come
now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD, Isa0118.
