(1) Jesus said..., Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God, Luk1819.
(2) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD. There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous (who first trusted in Christ, Eph0112). Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge. Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad, Pss1401-07.
(3) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes, Rom0310-18.
(4) To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin, Jas0417.
(5) The scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe, Gal0322.
(6) Now we know that what things soever
the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every
mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before
God. (Did not Moses give you the
law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Jhn0719) Therefore by
the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his
sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness
of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law
and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith
of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there
is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory
of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation
through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the
remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might
be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus, Rom0319-26.
(7) For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal,
sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would,
that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which
I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then
it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I
know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:
for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which
is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the
evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not,
it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find
then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see
another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind,
and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my
members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the
body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with
the flesh the law of sin, Rom0714-25.
(8) For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulful the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law, Gal0501-18.
(9) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you., Rom0801-11.
(10) It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life, Jhn0663.
(11) He
that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which
ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. These things
have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter,
which
is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall
teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you (and was confirmed unto us by
them that heard him), Jhn1424-26.
(12) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you, Jhn1503-12.
(13) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them, Eph0208-10. So ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do, Luk1710.
(14) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus, Rom0323-26.
(15) Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Heb1320,21.
