Ignorance: Eph0418:

Gene 1: 2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon
the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face
of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the
light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day.
1Joh 1: 5
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare
unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Acts 26: 13
At midday, O king, I (Paul) saw in the way a light from heaven,
above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them
which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking
unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest
thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom
thou
persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto
thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both
of
these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the
which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the
Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light,
and from the power of Satan unto God, that
they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them
which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly
vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and
throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles,
that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for
repentance.
21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went
about to kill me.
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this
day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things
than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first
that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the
people, and to the Gentiles.
Eccl 12: 1
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil
days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I
have no
pleasure in them;
2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not
darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
3 In the day
when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men
shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are
few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of
the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the
bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears
shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the
grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because
man goeth to
his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken,
or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken
at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit
shall return unto God who gave it.
Jere 13: 12
Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the
LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and
they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every
bottle shall be filled with wine?
13 Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold,
I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that
sit upon David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and
all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers
and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare,
nor have mercy, but destroy them.
15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness,
and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while
ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make
it gross darkness.
17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places
for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with
tears, because the LORD's flock is carried away captive.
18 Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit
down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown
of your glory.
19 The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open
them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall
be wholly carried away captive.
20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north:
where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock? 21
What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught
them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows
take thee, as a woman in travail?
Jere 13: 12
Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the
LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and
they shall say unto
thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled
with wine?
13 Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold,

21 What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast

Jere 14: 7
O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for
thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned
against thee.
8 O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble,
why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring
man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
9 Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that
cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we
are called by thy name; leave us not.
10 Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved
to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD
doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and
visit their sins.
11 Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their
good.
12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer
burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I
will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the
pestilence.
13 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them,
Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but
I will give you assured peace in this place.
14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my
name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither
spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination,
and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
15 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that
prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword
and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall
those prophets be consumed.
16 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the
streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and
they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their
sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon
them.
Jere 14: 17
Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run
down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the
virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with
a very grievous blow.
18 If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the
sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are
sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about
into a land that they know not.
19 Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion?
why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked
for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing,
and behold trouble!
20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of
our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.
21 Do not abhor us, for thy name's sake, do not disgrace the throne
of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.
22 Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause
rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD
our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made
all these things.
Jere 15: 1
Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before
me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out
of my sight, and let them go forth.
2 And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall
we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such
as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to
the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and
such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.
3 And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the
sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven,
and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.
4 And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the
earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah,
for that which he did in Jerusalem.
5 For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall
bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest?
6 Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward:
therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy
thee; I am weary with repenting.
7 And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will
bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they
return not from their ways.
8 Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas:
I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a
spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly,
and terrors upon the city.
9 She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the
ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been
ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver
to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
Jere 15: 1
Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before
me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out
of my sight, and let them go forth.
2 And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall

9 She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the
ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been
ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver
to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
10 Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife
and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent
on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them
doth curse me.
11 The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily
I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil
and in the time of affliction.
12 Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?
13 Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without
price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.
14 And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land
which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which
shall burn upon you.
Jere 15: 15
O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me
of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know
that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.
16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was
unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by
thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat
alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
18 Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth
to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as
waters that fail?
19 Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I
bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou
take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth:
let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.
20 And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall:
and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail
against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee,
saith the LORD.
21 And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and
I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.
Jere 16:1
The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying,
2 Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons
or daughters in this place.
3 For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the
daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers
that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in
this land;
4 They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented;
neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the
face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and
by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven,
and for the beasts of the earth.
5 For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning,
neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my
peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and
mercies.
Jere 16: 6
Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall
not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves,
nor make
themselves bald for them:
7 Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort
them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation
to drink for their father or for their mother.
8 Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with
them to eat and to drink.
9 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold,
I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your
days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice
of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
10 And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people
all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath
the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is
our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against
the LORD our God?
11 Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken
me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have
served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and
have not kept my law;
12 And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk
every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may
not hearken unto me:
13 Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that
ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve
other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall
no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children
of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
15 But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel
from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he
had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that
I gave unto their fathers.
Jere 16: 16
Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they
shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they
shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and
out of the holes of the rocks.
17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from
my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.
18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double;
because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance
with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.
19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the
day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the
ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited
lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?
21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will
cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know
that my name is The LORD.
John 12: 31
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this
world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men
unto me.
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.
34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that
Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must
be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light
with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon
you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the
children of light.
Joel 2: 1
Blow ye the trumpet
in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants
of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is
nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of
thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great
people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither
shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth:
the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them
a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as
horsemen, so shall they run.
5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they
leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble,
as a strong people set in battle array.
6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces
shall gather blackness.
7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like
men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they
shall not break their ranks:
8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one
in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not
be wounded.
9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the
wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in
at the windows like a thief.
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble:
the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw
their shining
11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his
camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word:
for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can
abide it?
Joel 2: 12
Therefore also now,
saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with
fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13 And rend
your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your
God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great
kindness, and
repenteth him of the evil.
14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing
behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering
unto the LORD your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the
elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts:
let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out
of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the
porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD,
and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should
rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where
is their God?
Joel 2: 18
Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
19 Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold,
I will send you
corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith:
and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
20 But I will remove far
off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land
barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his
hinder part toward
the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour
shall come up, because he hath done great things.
Joel 2: 21
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great
things.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of
the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the
fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD
your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and
he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain,
and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow
with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten,
the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great
army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the
name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you:
and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that
I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never
be ashamed.
Joel 2: 28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit
upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those
days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood,
and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,
before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the
name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in
Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in
the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Joel 3: 1
For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring
again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into
the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for
my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered
among the nations, and parted my land.
3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy
for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and
all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a
recompence? and if ye recompence me, swiftly and speedily will
I return your recompence upon your own head;
5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried
into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have
ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from
their border.
7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold
them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of
the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans,
to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Joel 3: 9
Proclaim ye this
among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all
the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10 Beat your
plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let
the weak say, I am strong.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves
together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down,
O LORD.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat:
for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you
down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness
is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day
of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall
withdraw their shining.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from
Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the
LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children
of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion,
my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall
no strangers pass through her any more.
18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall
drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all
the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall
come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley
of Shittim.
19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness,
for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have
shed innocent blood in their land.
20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation
to generation.
21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for
the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
Jere 51: 33
For thus saith the
LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like
a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while,
and the time of her harvest shall come.
34 Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath
crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed
me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates,
he hath cast me out.
35 The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall
the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants
of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.
36 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will plead thy cause,
and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make
her springs dry.
37 And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons,
an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.
38 They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lion's
whelps.
39 In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them
drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and
not wake, saith the LORD.
40 I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams
with he goats.
41 How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth
surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
42 The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude
of the waves thereof.
43 Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness,
a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass
thereby.
44 And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out
of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations
shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon
shall fall.
45 My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every
man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.
46 And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that
shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year,
and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence
in the land, ruler against ruler.
47 Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon
the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded,
and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
48 Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall
sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the
north, saith the LORD.
Jere 51: 49
As Babylon hath
caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the
slain of all the earth.
50 Ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember
the LORD afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.
51 We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath
covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries
of the LORD's house.
52 Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will
do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the
wounded shall groan.
53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should
fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers
come unto her, saith the LORD.
54 A sound of a cry cometh from Babylon, and great destruction
from the land of the Chaldeans:
55 Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of
her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters,
a noise of their voice is uttered:
56 Because the spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and
her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for
the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite.
57 And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains,
and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual
sleep, and not wake, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of
hosts.
58 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall
be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire;
and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire,
and they shall be weary.
59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son
of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the
king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And
this Seraiah was a quiet prince.
60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon
Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.
61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou comest to Babylon,
and shalt see, and shalt read all these words;
62 Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou hast spoken against this
place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man
nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.
63 And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this
book, that thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the
midst of Euphrates:
64 And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not
rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall
be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.
Ezek 11: 16
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them
far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them
among the
countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the
countries where they shall come.
17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather
you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where
ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the
detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from
thence.
19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit
within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh,
and will give them an heart of flesh:
20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances,
and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their
God.
21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their
detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their
way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.
Ezek 28: 25
Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house
of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall
be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall
they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.
26 And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses,
and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when
I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round
about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.
Ezek 36: 19
And I scattered
them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries:
according to their way and according to their doings I
judged them.
20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went,
they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are
the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel
had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for
mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen,
whither ye went.
23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among
the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and
the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD,
when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you
out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be
clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will
I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put
within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk
in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers;
and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will
call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon
you.
30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase
of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine
among the heathen.
31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings
that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight
for your iniquities and for your abominations.
32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known
unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house
of Israel.
33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed
you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in
the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
Ezek 36: 34
And the desolate
land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of
all that passed by.
35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like
the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities
are become fenced, and are inhabited.
36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that
I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate:
I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.
37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be inquired of
by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them
with men like a flock.
38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn
feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men:
and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Hebr 2: 1
Therefore we ought
to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard,
lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression
and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which
at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed
unto us by them that heard him;
Acts 26: 15
And I said, Who
art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto
thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both
of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the
which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto
whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light,
and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness
of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith
that is in me.
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly
vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and
throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles,
that they should repent and turn to God, and do
works meet for repentance.
Roma 10: 8
But what saith it?
The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that
is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not
be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?
and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written,
How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace,
and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith,
Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of
God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went
into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke
you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation
I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that
sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after
me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth
my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
Jere 9: 6
Thine habitation
is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know
me, saith the LORD.
7 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt
them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my
people?
Job 12: 24
He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth,
and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
25 They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to
stagger like a drunken man.
Isai 29: 13
Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me
with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed
their
heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept
of men:
14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among
this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom
of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their
prudent men shall be hid.
15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the
LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth
us? and who
knoweth us?
Isai 9: 16
For the leaders
of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them
are destroyed.
17 Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither
shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one
is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly.
For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched
out still.
Isai 5: 20
Woe unto them that
call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and
light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent
in their own sight!
22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength
to mingle strong drink:
23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness
of the righteous from him!
Jere 23: 16
Thus saith the LORD
of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy
unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own
heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said,
Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh
after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon
you.
18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived
and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even
a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of
the wicked.
20 The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed,
and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter
days ye shall consider it perfectly.
21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken
to them, yet they prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people
to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their
evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see
him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the
LORD.
25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in
my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy
lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams
which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have
forgotten my name for Baal.
28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he
that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the
chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer
that breaketh the rock in pieces?
30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD,
that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use
their tongues, and say, He saith.
32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith
the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their
lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded
them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith
the LORD.
Roma 11: 1
I say then, Hath
God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite,
of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye
not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession
to God against Israel, saying,
3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars;
and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to
myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the
image of Baal.
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according
to the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace
is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace:
otherwise work is no more work.
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for;
but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit
of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they
should not hear;) unto this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap,
and a stumbling block and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow
down their back alway.
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid:
but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles,
for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the
diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more
their fulness?
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of
the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my
flesh, and might save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world,
what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if
the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being
a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest
of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest
not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might
be graffed in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest
by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest
he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them
which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue
in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be
graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. 24 For if
thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and
wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much
more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into
their own olive tree?
Roma 11: 25
For I would not,
brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye
should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is
happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come
in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall
come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness
from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their
sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes:
but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers'
sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now
obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your
mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might
have mercy upon all.
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge
of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past
finding out!
34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his
counseller?
35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed
unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are
all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
Zech 2: 6
Ho, ho, come forth,
and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have
spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.
7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of
Babylon.
8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent
me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you
toucheth the apple of his eye.
9 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall
be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD
of hosts hath sent me.
10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and
I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
11 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and
shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and
thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land,
and shall choose Jerusalem again.
13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up
out of his holy habitation.
Isai 60: 1
Arise, shine; for
thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness
the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory
shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness
of thy rising.
2Cor 3: 12
Seeing then that
we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the
children of
Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth
the same vail
untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is
done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon
their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall
be taken away.
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord
is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory
of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory,
even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2Cor 4:1
Therefore seeing
we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking
in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by
manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's
conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them
which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ,
who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and
ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath
shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the
glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
1Joh 1: 5
This then is the
message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that
God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness,
we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and
his word is not in us.
2The 1: 6
Seeing it is a righteous
thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble
you;
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus
shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God,
and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the
presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be
admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among
you was believed) in that day.
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count
you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good
pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in
you, and ye in him,
according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2Ths 2:1
Now we beseech you,
brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering
together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither
by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the
day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not
come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of
sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God,
or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple
of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these
things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in
his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now
letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall
consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the
brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all
power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that
perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that
they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them
strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but
had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Luke 17: 22
And he said unto
the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see
one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not
after them, nor follow them.
24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under
heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also
the Son of man be in his day.
25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this
generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the
days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given
in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and
the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they
drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire
and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff
in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that
is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever
shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed;
the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken,
and the other left.
36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and
the other left.
37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said
unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be
gathered together.
Luke 21: 33
Heaven and earth
shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take
heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged
with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and
so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it
come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted
worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and
to stand before the Son of man.
John 8: 12
Then spake Jesus
again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that
followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light
of life.
Matt 10: 16
Behold, I send you
forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as
serpents, and harmless as doves.
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils,
and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake,
for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye
shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what
ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father
which speaketh in you.
21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and
the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their
parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he
that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another:
for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities
of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above
his lord.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and
the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the
house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that
shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what
ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to
kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both
soul and body in hell.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing?
Amos 8: 3
And the songs of
the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD:
there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast
them forth with silence.
4 Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the
poor of the land to fail,
5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn?
and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah
small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
6 That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair
of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?
7 The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will
never forget any of their works.
8 Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that
dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and
it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that
I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the
earth in the clear day:
10 And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs
into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins,
and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning
of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send
a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for
water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even
to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the
LORD, and shall not find it.
John 9: 4
I must work the
works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh,
when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the
light of the world.
John 11: 9
Jesus answered,
Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the
day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
John 12: 35
Then Jesus said
unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while
ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh
in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. 36 While ye have light,
believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These
things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
Matt 5: 11
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you,
and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in
heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before
you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his
savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for
nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill
cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but
on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the
house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
2Cor 4: 1
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy,
we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking
in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by
manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's
conscience in the sight of God.
Isai 59: 20
And the Redeemer
shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression
in Jacob, saith the LORD.
21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My
spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy
mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth
of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the
LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
Isai 60:1
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD
is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness
the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory
shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness
of thy rising.
